Federal Government Growth in Power
How is it the Federal Government has gained so much power in decidng how you will or will not live? The USA is advertised as "Land of the Free" and for a good reason -- to escape the oppression of the European nations, ruled by monarchs, dictators, and out of control religious authorities. So, what has happened?
With the "Obama Care" going through we will see the Federal government creating a force to enforce its rules and regulations in controling your life. Make no mistake, the "Obamas Health Care System" is only a continuation of the American People giving up their freedom. Forget about all the false noise you hear on the internet about concentration camps being set up (this was the scare tatics of the kooks against the Bush presidency) to enslave anyuone not wanting to go along with the One World Government. No, those wanting to control the people will be doing something much more subtle than that. How much better to convince the people they are going to be taken care of (craddle to grave) as a right. This is called, "giving up your freedom" by choice. Obama Care is only a beginning, well not really, it is only part of the beginning. The real beginning of the American loss of freedom began with the United Nations. The United Nations is pretty much powerless today but may reawaken in the future, but for now it is pretty much a sounding board for poitical posturing.
It is odd, many of those against the "Big Government" of the Bush administration are supporters of the Obama Big Government. Those putting out the propaganda FEMA was becoming and arm of Big Government and building internment camps to put US citizens opposing Big Government. Of course some of those angry liars and deceived individuals hate everyone and see the boogey man behind every Bush, or Obama. Much of this, on both sides, can be better understood when, and if, you accept the existence of an individual some call the Devil, or Satan. Understanding this one thing explains why, whether it is Bush or Obama, everything seems to remain the same, no matter which party.
What is a Christian to do? Be a good Witness, first and foremost (go to: Witness?). We are citizens of a different government (Kingdom) and as such our President (King) has already been choosen -- we have cast our vote. With this in mind we need to be cautious about political involvement. I'm saying, be careful, not ignore or not have your say but be careful and think on this long and hard. YaHshua never ridiculed or spoke against civil government and authority (the Romans excercised Military control), in fact when appraoched by the military of the ruling Government of Rome he never once, on record, had a confrontation. No, our Savior's stern words were reserved for the politically motivated religious leaders, the Pharisees and the Sadducees -- a two party system?
Certainly everyone agreed the Health system need some kind of control with runaway costs, but this is not what those in control of the Federal Government have done and are doing. They are
Americans, in general, have lost the vision of what the United States, the vision of freedom from overlords governing our lives. The population understands the need for a collective governing body to protect and and aide the indivuals freedoms from oppression and from invasion of the people -- don't they? This, however, is not a mandate for the Federal government to rule as dictators ver the population. they are to protect out rights as free men and women.
We, as a people, have little by little given our individual freedom up. How has this happened? How is it a society that is envied by the world trying to become like those begrudging our freedom. We are so used to living a free style of life that when Americans go over to other countries we are seen as spoiled. What we see as a right the rest of the world see as luxury and this is evident in how Americans act when abroad. We appear to those jealous countries as the "Fat Americans".
Yes, we are spoiled, spoiled with freedom but for how long? |
